Dr. Fangalua received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Utah, a MLitt in International Security Studies from the University of St. Andrews (UK), and a Ph.D. from Durham University (UK). Dr. Fangalua has diverse expertise in many areas, which are relevant to sexual assault intervention and service. Her work includes conducting research and providing lectures on Labor findings associated with Human Trafficking particularly foreign workers who had been sexually exploited to various international and local organizations. She also speaks several languages, which is extremely useful in working with the various immigrant and refugee populations of the Black and African diaspora in Utah. Her research skills and experience are invaluable in assessing the needs of these women and girls and in examining the effectiveness of the various programs the Sojourner Group will implement and provide. Dr. Fangalua also has international experiences in Europe and the Middle East. Dr. Fangalua's knowledge and experiences provides the Sojourner Group with an understanding of the political and economic influences and factors that impact many immigrant and refugee populations of the Black and African diaspora. She has worked collaboratively, creating many partnerships with government officials, academics, and International Non-Governmental Organizations.
