Our VISION

MISSION

The mission of the Sojourner Group is to meet the often ignored and unmet needs of the historically under-represented American Black victimized survivor of sexual and domestic violence. By providing education through training it is believed that advocates and community members will better serve the American Black woman from a historical context.

GOAL

To encourage traumatized victimized sexual and domestic violence survivors to live the second principle of Kwanzaa, Kujichagulia (koo-jee-chah-GOO-lee-ah) — “Self-Determination” —- ‘Define Ourselves, Name Ourselves, Create for Ourselves, and Speak for Ourselves.

VISION

To alleviate the trickle down effects of pessimistic thought processes caused by the ongoing impact of historical trauma upon victimized Black Americans and focus on the positive reflections that lead to healthy lifestyles and healthier families.
